MeGA braves the Dragon's Den!

Every year the City Council's Area Committee invites small local projects to put in a bid for up to £100 to fund an idea to help the local neighbourhood. MeGA submitted a SUCCESSFUL application for £100 to buy garden hand tools, gardening gloves and a couple of trugs to encourage and attract more volunteers. We already have a dozen weekly volunteers to work on planting, pruning and tidying the big rockery and circular beds at the north end of the Memorial Gardens. Not only do they gain gardening skills, but they enjoy healthy outdoor exercise in a beautiful setting. For many of our volunteers it has been a godsend during the past covid - clouded year to spend socially distanced social time with other volunteers. We hope that our new equipment will attract more volunteer gardeners, who may be socially isolated or not have access to their own basic tools.

Get in touch with us - every Monday morning 9.30 - 11am in the Memorial Gardens. Look out for the purple vests!
