MeGA Opportunities and the Memorial Gardens restoration

Many of you will be aware of the restoration work that’s now in full swing in the Memorial Gardens. As well as all the structural work to the Memorial Arch, Undercroft, pond and fountains, provision of toilets, improvements to footpaths and access from the car park, cafe and visitors centre there are ambitious plans to involve more people. A new post is being created to encourage more visitors and to broaden volunteer involvement in the Gardens.

MeGA has a very friendly and active group of volunteer gardeners, but if gardening isn’t your thing then there will be lots of opportunities for you to get involved in other activities.

These could include:

* Bench restoration

* Creation of a wildlife area

* Tree trails

* Art in the Gardens

* Children’s story telling

* History of the Gardens and its Memorials

* Research on a WW11 roll of honour

* Visitor surveys

...and many other activities to suit all interests and abilities.

WATCH THIS SPACE FOR MORE DETAILS!

Join MeGA to keep up to speed on these opportunities.
