This Month In The Gardens; September

September has arrived, bringing cooler mornings and a feeling that the year is turning its next page. After this summer's heat, many of us feel a mix of relief and anticipation for cooler weather. Gardens have struggled, plants have been lost, and even we humans have felt a bit scorched around the edges. But September is a month of renewal, and MeGA is ready for the Autumn work.
This summer reminded us how fragile things can be, from the plants we tend to the routines we rely on. But it also reminded us how resilient our community is. Even when the heat made everything feel heavy, our volunteers were there. Now, as temperatures fall, the work becomes more pleasant.
Our sale took place on Sunday 13th September; the money raised will go toward replacing the plants lost on the rockery during the heat. All items for sale were made by The Bags, our local sewing group. Thank you all for your creative and lovely creations.
Finally, after a summer that left many of us and the plants feeling wilted, it’s a reminder that beauty grows even in difficult seasons. (Did I really say that?)
