This Month in the Gardens

December is here, colder and wetter than the last few months and thankfully, all the rain has helped fill up the pond in the Wildlife Garden. The Memorial gardens are looking tidy thanks to the work of the MeGA volunteers, lots of leaf clearing, weeding and planting ready for Spring, especially on the rockery. 2026 will mark a hundred years since the rockery was created. Matt has treated the marestail, and now heathers have been planted.
We have had plenty of cakes, coffee, and tea to keep us going through the start of a cold month.
Of course, December is the time for the MeGA Christmas lunch and skittles tournament at the Embankment pub. Lots of fun was had on an occasion that is becoming a date to be there or be square. A big thank you to Liz V and Gina for arranging the lunch, and thank you to the MeGA Committee for covering the cost. Pictures of the afternoon are below.
Next year, I'm hoping to create a volunteer’s profile for those who wish to contribute. Nothing deep, just things like how did you hear about MeGA, what made you join and what do you get out of volunteering?
